Many brands are betting on iPhone apps to keep their customer base happy.

Recently Gucci launched a very nicely produced app available in eight languages.

It offered travel advice for cities relevant to the brand’s history such as Portofino and Milan, plus glossy, magazine-like features showing how their products are made, interviews with designers, social networking live feeds and robust e-commerce options.

They sell it as an “all-encompassing experience for the luxury brand’s enthusiasts” and it is certainly a well-judged app. [Read more...]

I’ve heard it said from a number of my friends who’ve clocked far more time in the industry than I have that at certain moments, that truly great advertising can be conceived when a couple of mates get together one night over dinner and drinks (mainly drinks) to discuss art and new ideas.
