GLEE Stars Show Skin…And Get Too Sexy for GQ?

By: Kelly Ahern, guest blogger

Critics remain conflicted regarding GQ’s November cover.

Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith tossed aside their wholesome “Glee” personas—as well as some clothes– for a GQ photo spread that is sending shockwaves through newsstands.

With an array of commentators, ranging from Katie Couric to Entertainment Weekly, everyone’s jumping at the chance to share their two cents.

It wasn’t extreme Playboy-esqe nudity, more along the lines of naughty school girl, but the micro minis, sexy pink stilettos, lacey lingerie bottoms and classic uniform knee-highs sure made some parents shudder. [Read more...]

Why SPINdustry Is Not PR & Wrongly Portrays the Industry #fail

****** UPDATE: Monday February 22, 2010

I had an interesting conversation with Mr. Cheban & Mr. Huck in this order…

Read for yourselves. It was unsolicited, as I never contacted them directly, until I replied to a person who tweeted me including Mr. Cheban and Mr. Huck into my tweet.

Also, I’d like to mention some things since this is apparently now a topic of conversation: I know the show is for entertainment, but I don’t appreciate how it makes my industry, my degree and the field I work in look to people on the ‘outside.’ Nor do I appreciate how it makes women in public relations appear to be nothing more than far lesser versions of poor Samantha Jones-types from ‘Sex & the City’ with the brains of a Karen Smith from ‘Mean Girls.’

November 16, 2009 marked the premiere of Twilight‘s second installment New Moon. As always, American Idol host and radio presenter, Ryan Seacrest had his booth on the red carpet. Rushing into the booth nearly breathless came Robert Pattinson with his publicist trailing behind.

What could have been an easy, friendly (I mean c’mon Ryan Seacrest isn’t “Inappropriate” King. It’s bloody Ryan Seacrest, the guy is always nothing but kindness on ALL his shows) and painless interview, turned into something awkward and unnecessary.

Ryan Seacrest started off the interview asking Robert Pattinson how he was doing, what it was like to be Edward Cullen etc. Everything was going very well until [Read more...]

Brüno & the NOT so “Hot PR Twins”

By: Lauren Fernandez, guest blogger

When Brüno hit theaters, PR professionals around the world had every right to cringe: because of the appearance of the “Hot PR Twins.” (You can check out their PR firm here.)

An article appeared that detailed how Sacha Baron Cohen, playing the role of Brüno, appeared in the PR firm’s office asking what the hot charities were nowadays. They said ‘Darfur’ and when asked where that was, they said they didn’t [Read more...]
