You’re Invited: Sasha’s 28th Birthday and Recurso World Aids Day Fundraiser

Donate Today!

Hello, hello!

It’s that time of year again and this year Recurso will be doing another great fundraiser!

Sasha, Recurso’s resident PR & Emerging Media master, is donating her birthday to Recurso!

December 1st is World AIDS Day, so it makes it the perfect opp for a Recurso+World AIDS Day! Currently, we’re raising funds to help buy antiviral treatments for the Hospital del Niño in Lima, Peru, and all proceeds will go towards this goal.

Recurso, a Spanish word for “resource or refuge”, is a 501(c)(3) international non-profit organization that began in May 1999. Recurso is dedicated to improving the human condition by empowering students across the nation to provide direct sustainable development and aid. Recurso’s three areas of concentration are: health, water, and education. This includes promoting primary education, quality health care, dental hygiene education, the building of schools and providing school supplies to our global community partners.

We really hope you can make it!
♥ Eva, Sasha and the Recurso Team

An Evening With Snow White and The Huntsman, NBC Universal and [yellow tail]

We seriously heart the folks at NBC Universal and [yellow tail]. They really know how to throw intimate, fun, exceptionally well-catered and put together events.

Whenever we step into a NBC Universal and [yellow tail] production it is always feels like we’ve stepped into another world.

Thereby, the NBC Universal and [yellow tail] blu-ray/DVD launch of “Snow White and The Huntsman” was nothing short of an ‘outstanding’ that even Dolores Umbridge couldn’t argue with it.

Minerva McGonagall would be proud.

Ignore our sleepless, New York Fashion Week, extremely tired face… rather pay attention to our pretty dress, red lips and cutsey wedges! *wheeee* Go us! :)

Centered around the theme of “Good and Evil” (we felt very Florence + The Machine “Shake it Out” music video-esque), the night was full of delicious [Read more...]

Empire State of Sasha: Electric Daisy Carnival New York 2012

Where have all the neon, polyester flowers gone?

Or rather, were there any faux-flowers left in the Greater New York City area as thousands of gardlanded, flowered-out electronic music festival goers descended upon New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. for Electric Daisy Carnival New York.

I took a trip with the Italians and it was such an adventure, Charlie!

Empire State of Sasha: Manhattan Cocktail Classic

Part festival, part fête, part conference, part cocktail party – the Manhattan Cocktail Classic is an annual celebration of the myriad points of intersection between cocktails and culture.

Across five days and the four boroughs, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic (May 17-21) offered industry pros and enthusiasts alike a vast array of unique experiences (*ahem* Gentleman’s Cocktail Crawl with The Italian) and events (shout out to the fab John Henry from Liquor.com for his stellar presentation on marketing up-and-coming spirits brands!)

The Huffington Post definitely said it best,

The Badoo Project (#BadooProject)

“NYC was an easy choice as the place to first introduce Badoo to the U.S. It’s young, diverse, and social–a lot like Badoo!”
 - Jessica Powell, Chief Marketing Office for Badoo worldwide

It’s no surprise we love Badoo.

We’ve been writing about them for quite sometime now and thereby, it still should not be a surprise that when heard about The Badoo Project, we took our happy little selves to SoHo for an evening to hang out with our favourites from Londontown.

What is the Badoo Project you ask? [Read more...]

Desperate But Not Serious

It’s difficult, if you like Representative Anthony Weiner, to not feel regret for a career undone.

Watching this absurd drama play out in public has been uncomfortable. And it’s downright frightening to watch a career so filled with promise come apart at the seams.

Following Rep. Weiner’s travails, Falstaff came to mind when he said, “The better part of valor is discretion.”

After all, in lying Weiner was trying merely to save his life.

Who can say with complete certainty he or she wouldn’t do the same if faced with a public revelation that threatened every aspect of his personal and professional life? [Read more...]

Avon Brings 125th Anniversary Celebration to Madison Square Garden

** Disclosure: Sasha Muradali works for Proof Integrated Communications, a division of Burson-Marsteller, the public relations agency representing Avon for the 125th anniversary celebration. She was not personally compensated by Avon for attendance or for this post.**

Marketed as “the company for women,” sold in over 100 markets around the globe by over 6.5 million independent sales representatives and founded in 1886 in New York City, New York, Avon is the the world’s largest direct seller of consumer goods who is currently celebrating their 125th Anniversary on a massive, global tour.

For a company that sells four lipsticks every single second, where two out of five women across the world use their products, and who has donated over $800m to support their philanthropic pillars over the years, 125-years is not only a massive accomplishment but it speaks wonders about the female consumer.

Look at it this way, Avon had women selling products door-to-door, yes they call themselves the original “Social Network,” before the 19th Amendment was passed in 1919 in the United States guaranteeing women the right to vote.

The tour labeled as the “Avon BELIEVE World Tour,” is schedule to hit 16-major cities including New York City, London, Los Angeles, Chicago, Johannesburg, Moscow, Mexico City, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, New Delhi, Dallas, Atlanta and Istanbul.

With the Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, proclaiming [Read more...]

Coffee and Crumpets: Catching Up with Jeannie Mai, Host of The Style Network’s “How Do I Look?”

By: Melissa Murphy, guest blogger

I had the chance to catch up with style diva Jeannie Mai, the host of The Style Network’s hit fashion intervention series “How Do I Look?” for a blogger breakfast at the Renaissance Hotel in NYC.

Jeannie was just as fun and spunky as predicated. She told us about moving to LA with only $238 and a dream to be Oprah, shared scoop about the new season of her show, and encouraged us to do what we love, while always helping and empowering others.

“How Do I Look?” is more than just a “makeover” show, Jeannie empowers women to discover [Read more...]

New York Fashion Week SS11: Fashionably Fierce, Lincoln Center & Badgley Mischka

NYFW at Lincoln Center

(*** WARNING: This post is image heavy. ***)

I keep saying I’m one lucky girl and that’s because I am.

As many of my readers know, I’m originally from Miami, Fla. and I only moved to New York City in mid-February of 2010 to start a job at large public relations agency doing digital advertising.

This is my first time in New York City during Fashion Week, and if my post on the Second Annual Fashion’s Night Out was any indication as to what was to come — believe me, I didn’t know it.

Moi :)

Lincoln Center is this beautiful space on the island of Manhattan. It is [Read more...]
