World Cupmas may be over, and United 2026 is still nearly a decade away, but, there is no time like the present to celebrate our neighbours to the south a la Chicharito-style.

Thereby, in the spirit of celebration, salut México with an incredible cocktail containing three infusions from Tanteo Spirits reflecting the colors of the their flag: Jalapeño, Chipotle, and Habanero.

Coincidence? I think not, considering each of these are common ingredients in every day Mexican cuisine.

So what better way to say, ¡Viva México! than with a Jabapotle Cocktail. [Read more…]

You’re Invited: Sasha’s 28th Birthday and Recurso World Aids Day Fundraiser

Donate Today!

Hello, hello!

It’s that time of year again and this year Recurso will be doing another great fundraiser!

Sasha, Recurso’s resident PR & Emerging Media master, is donating her birthday to Recurso!

December 1st is World AIDS Day, so it makes it the perfect opp for a Recurso+World AIDS Day! Currently, we’re raising funds to help buy antiviral treatments for the Hospital del Niño in Lima, Peru, and all proceeds will go towards this goal.

Recurso, a Spanish word for “resource or refuge”, is a 501(c)(3) international non-profit organization that began in May 1999. Recurso is dedicated to improving the human condition by empowering students across the nation to provide direct sustainable development and aid. Recurso’s three areas of concentration are: health, water, and education. This includes promoting primary education, quality health care, dental hygiene education, the building of schools and providing school supplies to our global community partners.

We really hope you can make it!

Image via WeHeartIt

“Eating foods rich in antioxidants, such as pomegranates, can be beneficial in boosting your skins’ natural sun protection and are a great source of structured water, giving your body a two-in-one benefit.

Try to eat foods that are rich in color and take internal supplements that contain pure pomegranate extract and Vitamins C & E, to help boost the SPF of your sunscreen and neutralize free radical damage that may occur even while you’re wearing sunscreen.” – Howard Murad M.D., Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA and founder of Murad Inc.

Recently, I had the chance to sit down and chat with the Dr. Murad team about getting beach-ready and staying safe in the sun.

They provided me with their top 10 tips and some other insights too! [Read more…]

Inhale Courage, Exhale Fear: Moving Forward

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever — because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path, and that will make all the difference.”

– Steve Jobs

If I learned anything over the past year in a half it’s that not all that glitters is golden.

It’s that the world is big place and we have lessons that need to be learned.

Some people come into our lives, not to stay forever, but to teach us these lessons.

Maybe we’ll see them again, maybe we won’t.

“A fall from the third floor hurts as much as a fall from the hundredth. If I have to fall, may it be from a high place.”

– Paulo Coelho (By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept)

But each experience is built to shape us.

I see people, often, striving to work at the bigger firms, striving to be the bigger person, and dreaming so big they lose sight of the bigger picture.

What is the bigger picture you ask? [Read more…]
