Things To Do With Your Acer Iconia Tab 8

In our first post on the Acer Iconia Tab 8, we discussed the more technical side of the device. This time we want to focus on the more lifestyle and day-to-day aspects of owning one of these tablets.

Whether it’s a high-schooler or that daughter or son at university, the Iconia Tab 8 is a good buy for three specific reasons: cost, size and speed.

If you’re a budget conscious parent or you happen to have a ‘typical’ teenager, [Read more…]

For the past few months I’ve been adjusting to life in a new city.

Social Hosting: An Airbnb Experience

Last weekend I test-drove one of the most talked-about travel accommodation websites out there: Airbnb.

I’m very pleased to report that

  • my first guests were not axe-yielding psychos
  • the house stands totally undamaged and as lovely as ever
  • my small furry one, Watson the dog, loved them and was loved back
  • the payment went through the very next day. [Read more…]

The Badoo Project (#BadooProject)

“NYC was an easy choice as the place to first introduce Badoo to the U.S. It’s young, diverse, and social–a lot like Badoo!”
 – Jessica Powell, Chief Marketing Office for Badoo worldwide

We’ve been writing about them for quite sometime now and thereby, it still should not be a surprise that when heard about The Badoo Project, we took our happy little selves to SoHo for an evening to hang out with our favourites from Londontown.

What is the Badoo Project you ask? [Read more…]

In June of 2011, Google announced Google+, its next effort for social.

On the heels of the not-so-successful Wave project, Google+ is clearly intended as an amalgamation of many social services already on the market, but better.

With the company reportedly preparing to launch their official brand profiles platform by late fall, they’ve asked major brands to hold-off marketing their businesses on the outlet until formalized pages have been released.

Rumor has it this new platform will include an open API for applications and potentially good insight into data usage.

One of the challenges currently facing brands is the desire [Read more…]
