On CNN: Beauty In the Eye of the Beholder Equates the Need for PERFECTION

Malaika Arora via Amrita Arora

Is ethnic beauty

the new ‘it’ factor?

I’m one lucky girl.

I am. I am. I am.

And I would like to personally thank the amazing Liane Membis for including me in her project.

On Monday September 13, 2010 I was quoted in a CNN article about women, beauty and ‘perfection.’ I had quite a few people (friends, Twitter buddies and family) reach out to tell me that they not only agreed with that I said, but they wholeheartedly appreciated that I said it. [Read more...]

MAD WOMEN: PR Is Not Publicity

By: Gini Dietrich, guest blogger

Like Sasha Muradali, I am a huge Mad Men fan.

I love the storyline, the characters, the old days of advertising, the three martini lunches, and the clothes…oh the clothes!

While, I love the series, the first episode of this season really rubbed me the wrong way.

{Spoiler alert: If you’re not yet watching season four, stop reading now!}

If you are, however, caught up and saw the first show of this season, you’ll remember Pete fretting to Peggy about losing the Sugarberry Ham account. [Read more...]

MAD MEN: 7 Reasons To VOTE Me One of the MAD WOMEN

Don Draper

I love Don Draper.

No, not John Hamm (though he’s quite the looker), I love Don Draper.

He is this complex entity that has a handsome exterior laced with a lethal temper, dry wit, savvy wisdom and this keen ability to make the world work for him.

He’s the original AD man; he’s the quintessential of what makes the Mad Men.

After no debate or deliberation, we’ve decided to over-analyze the Mad Men Season Four promo of the cast because we had better things to do but couldn’t help our McDraper Dreaminess needs.

Click to Enlarge, Magnify on Picasa.

This serves no purpose other than to let out our yearning to talk about one of our favourite shows, that we’ve waited a year to bloody see.

So *yay!* and a big *le squeee* [Read more...]

{iStyle} HOW TO: Dress Like You Just Stepped Out of MAD MEN

MAD WOMEN logo/name/likeness by Sasha H. Muradali. 2009 All Rights Reserved.

AMC’s Emmy-Award Winning and ultra golden oldies hip television show Mad Men is pure vintage goodness.

So, while, there is a fine line between looking contemporary classic and actually looking like you are going to a 1960s themed dance party, a few period-inspired pieces can go a long way.

…You too, can look the part without looking like you stepped back in time, literally. [Read more...]

MAD WOMEN: Christina Hendricks’ A Letter to Men

MAD WOMEN logo/name/likeness by Sasha H. Muradali. 2009 All Rights Reserved.

I actually remember reading this in April 2010, but I came across it again recently while on Esquire online and I thought it would be something nice to post, especially since I make it a rule never to re-post content from another site in its entirety.

I agree and know I know most of females friends (married and single) would agree with all of her points, save perhaps for the the bit about Facebook and ordering Scotch,  but Christina Hendrick’s open “Letter to Men” it pretty spot on:- [Read more...]
