Don’t believe the rumors, *ahem*Christina Binkley’s Twitter* because the final collection from British fashion icon, Lee Alexander McQueen, did, in fact go to the runway and images were, in fact, released.
Shown to an exceptionally small group of editors and buyers, it was said to be breathtaking.
Even Women’s Wear Daily, who is known for hashing out details and lots of opinions said, “In their artistry, imagination and technical wizardry, they brought his fashion spirit to life.”
The collection was made up of 15 pieces, all of which I found to be beautiful. In my opinion, McQueen was one of those designers who pushed the norm, but didn’t frighten you or alienate you with off-the-wall images that defied logic.
McQueen, like Marc Jacobs, had a method to the madness and from each piece, in each collection, there is something artistic, special and absolutely captivating.
It’s truly sad that McQueen felt that he needed to end his own life because the fashion world is now missing a true artist.
