We all know by now what went down Sunday night at the 2009 MTV VMAs. Country’s sweetheart, Taylor Swift, won Best Female Video, against the likes the Lady GaGa, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Beyonce. She went up on stage, thanked MTV and told us all how excited she was. Her speech was then cut short by an obviously drunk (was he?) Kanye West, who decided to rally on Beyonce’s behalf that “Single Ladies” is the “best video of the decade.”

So after 72 hours of hullabaloo — public relations stunt or is Kanye just personally stank?
Cognac Boy
Goodness, it’s like a bad version of an awesome alcoholic musical trip by Miranda Lambert. I can just hear the mockery cover songs to “Jack Daniels” being swaggered over to “Hennessy Boy” or something…
So while, there are pictures of Kanye pre-VMAs with his now famous bottle of Hennessy … did he really drink all of THAT?
His bottle started it’s journey on the red carpet, it met Pete Wentz-Simpson, got introduced to Joe Jackson and then was given to Diddy to finish off before it returned to its owner and his Nagini (seriously? WTF is that?) wannabe girlfriend.
Was the bottle just a bottle for show and some share, or is it to blame for some outlandish behaviour?
Once an @$$, always an @$$
So this isn’t the first time Mr. West has been in the center of a media frenzy for not being able to keep his mouth shut. I mean we are talking about the man who said George W. Bush doesn’t like black people and now his Wikipedia page has been locked.
In 2006, he told Playboy “I throw up historical subjects in a way that makes kids want to learn about them,” West claimed, “I’m definitely in the history books already.” And in that same year he went on stage to argue with Justice and Simian for winning Best Video at the MTV Europe Awards for their song “We Are Your Friends” over his “Touch the Sky.”
Conceited arrogance, anyone?
Nice.
Are you surprised? I’m not.
Sure he’s a great musician. If you’re into hip-hop and crossover genre stuff, no question. Kanye is the man. I know you were getting down to “Gold Digger” in the clubs, don’t lie. But musical brilliance has nothing to do with one’s personality.
Was our President correct in calling Kanye a jackass?

Cruel joke?
So was this some stunt MTV put together with Kanye to attract viewers because no one really watches anymore? I mean we know they can’t afford their rent in Times Square and they’re being hit hard by the recession, not to mention, they just don’t “get it” anymore.
We know Bruno v. Eminem was a stunt. So was this just some MTV stunt at the expense of Taylor Swift?
Furthermore, is it a cruel joke? Or is the joke on us? Could she have been “in” on it?
Ooh, the mental gears are turning, folks.
But that’s not even the issue – IF it all does happen to be true, and this was a stunt by MTV, it certainly would say a lot about the sad state of affairs in PRlandia.
What say you?
