**RIP Stephen Gately, who passed away on Saturday October 10.**
So like every other girl in the 1990s I liked boybands…so just because I’m feeling rather nostalgic this week…Besides I think I chose the best of the boyband songs. Oh and make sure to check out Take That for the anti-boyband-boyband song
Boyzone
The original boyband. Singing “No Matter What” (love, love, love — and bet if you weren’t a boyband girl you didn’t know THEY sang this) at ‘Andrew Lloyd Webber: The Royal Albert Hall Celebration’.
“Love me for a reason” at a reunion concert last year in Manchester. Ronan Keating still has it, wow. lol
Take That
You have to remember, “Back For Good!” Robbie Williams is in the video
And who would have thought about 10 years later, they would get back together, without Robbie, and seriously make un-boyband fantasmic musica!
“Shine” — I first heard them sing it at the Concert for Princess Diana when it was on VH1. This is worth a listen, especially since it’s the anti-boyband-boyband song… LOVE LOVE LOVE!
N Sync
Do you remember peroxide blonde Justin Timberlake?
What about the dolls?
Backstreet Boys
I was totally in 7th grade when this came out…I still think “I Want It That Way” is their BEST song…
A1
Okay so, “I Still Believe” was NEVER a single from A1 (so settle for a YT fan vid), but I think it should have been. I think it’s one of their better songs, if not just because it’s so damn catchy! (P.S., chorus that I love is around 1:12)
And you can’t put A1 anywhere without “Everytime.” I mean c’mon!
Westlife
I know, I’m such a girl…this is my favourite, “Amazing.” I think I have this concert from the Face to Face tour on DVD somewhere. Don’t care that I’m a 20-something, still love their music!
My Love
5ive
I used to love 5ive, lol. Enjoy ![]()
“Until the Time Is Through” <————— their BEST song.
I just love the metal look of this…and the dancing, of course
BONUS! Blue
They’re not a boyband from the boyband era…but a boyband nonetheless…and I like this song and they were in “Love Actually”…sorta, they were mentioned.
“Guilty”
