Desi R&B singing sensation Jay Sean is back…and he’s cracked the American market. Oh, yes!
Teaming up with Hip-Hop superstar Lil Wayne, Jay Sean returns to the music scene with a new catchy tune called “Down.” It’s cracked the American mainstream market and is currently no.13 on iTunes.
Long awaited, and many moons long past My Against Myself – it’s finally happened. I personally LOVE this track. It’s a little different than previous Jay and is quite of a different taste than “M.U.R.D.E.R.,” “Stolen,” and even “Eyes on You.”
I would not even consider this the same as “Ride It.” This is really a new sound for Jay and I think it’s bloody fantastic! He’s definitely breaking away from the “Asian” artist persona and really proving that an Indian kid, doesn’t have to make music backed with tablas and high-pitched traditional voices to crossover.
Well done!
This definitely is a PR WIN in our books for the Asian music industry.
I can’t link the video for you, as everywhere I go, embedding has been disabled (PR FAIL, just so you know!) But you can see it here on YouTube.
Some stills I made below (and yes, ladies, there is a still of him shirtless from the beginning of the vid):-
And because I can’t give you “Down” — I give you some other Jay Sean music video… one of my favs, which actually, I own a dress just like Bips!
