R.I.P. King of Pop
Today, Michael Jackson, one of the biggest music stars in the history of the world, passed away at age 50. Influencing fashion, art, music, and dance, Jackson is has now moved on to the land of Legends.
Confirmed by the LA Times, CNN, and other news sources, Jackson passed away due to cardiac arrest, which left him in a coma.
Born August August 29, 1958 Jackson was the front-boy for the supergroup, the Jackson 5, at the age of 11. Dubbed the “Most Successful Entertainer of All Time,” inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, he holds 13 Grammy Awards and 13 number one singles via his solo career. Jackson has sold over 750 million records worldwide, including Thriller, the most successful album of all time.
However no stranger to controversy from child molestation charges, to the colour of his ’skin,’ to legal and financial troubles, not to mention the feud with Sir Paul McCartney (little known fact, his fortune is from the rights to Beatles music) -- Jackson will be remembered for a lot of things.
Nonetheless, a sad day it is, for the author of We Are The World, who invented the moon walk and was a pioneer in his own right for music and dance the world over.
