Throw a block party, get your urbanite geek friends together, pull out the Atari tees and celebrate! Tetris turns 25-years old today!
Born in Moscow on this day, June 6, 1984, Alexey Pajitnov created, what would become, one the world’s best-selling games ever.
Single or multiplayer, the aim of Tetris is to build full blocks horizontally called “tetrominoes” in order to eliminate rows to gain points — as Google reminds today:

Since the 1980s there have been hundred of variations for the popular game, including versions for the iPod. Most recently The Next Tetris and New Tetris include multi-piece previews, a vast difference to the original one piece preview.
What does the future hold for Tetris? Only time will tell. But for now, we’re going to continue to enjoy it on our long trips, spurts of boredom and adamant curiosity.
