NFL Broncos v Panthers: Super Bowl 50 Football-Inspired Cocktails

It’s that time of the year! It’s time for football’s biggest night as the entire country gets ready for Super Bowl 50.

This year it’s the Carolina Panthers v the Denver Broncos and the lines have been drawn.

Whether you plan on going out or having fun with some friends and watching the game at home, we’re worked together with some of our friends from the mixology world to share with you some of the trendiest, most delicious and easy to make Super Bowl-inspired cocktail around!

Panthers

First up is a bright and light mix from our friends at Cruzan for all of your rum fans out there.

Cruzan® Carolina Trolley

  • 1 1/2 parts Cruzan® Aged Light Rum
  • 1/2 part DeKuyper® Blue Curaçao
  • 2 parts Fresh Sour Mix
  • 1 part Fresh Pineapple Juice
  • 1 part Ginger Beer

Build all ingredients except Ginger Beer with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Shake well and strain into an ice filled Collins glass.

Top with Ginger Beer and garnish with Orange & Pineapple.

A little neon for the Panthers fan in your life.

The Sweet Caroline

  • 1.5 parts Milagro Silver Tequila
  • .75 parts Lillet Blanc
  • .75 parts Lemon
  • .5 Blue Curacao
  • .25 parts Lemon Verbena & White Pepper Syrup

Garnish: Lemon

Cup: Coupe

Put all ingredients in a Boston shaker, add ice and shake until cold.

Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass/coupe. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

 

 

The Panther by Van Gogh Vodka

  • 1 oz. Van Gogh Acai-Blueberry Vodka
  • 1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
  • 5 oz. Lemonade
  • 1/2 oz. Triple Sec

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice filled highball glass rimmed with silver sugar.

Garnish with floating blueberries.

Broncos

First up is a Denver Broncos-themed cocktail created by Fox Restaurant Concepts (True Food and North Italia, etc.) Master Mixologist, Mat Snapp (originally from Colorado) called Carrrots, Mary, Carrots.

The Carrots, Mary, Carrots cocktail is perfectly orange for those of us that are ‘United in Orange’ to create a refreshing alternative to a Bloody Mary.

It’s is a great combination of savory and spicy with a delicious ancho chile liqueur.

Carrots, Mary, Carrots

  • 4 ounces fresh carrot juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce evaporated cane syrup (aka simple syrup)
  • 4 dashes Cholula Hot Sauce
  • 1 1/2 ounces Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur

Lime wheel and grape tomatoes for garnish

Next up is another carrot-based cocktail called the Orange Stallion.

If you live in New York City or have ever visited, then this one is for you.

Created by Rob Krueger from Extra Fancy it’s a nice twist on a classic cocktail making.

Orange Stallion

  • 1.5 oz. Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition
  • .5 oz. Amaro Meletti
  • .5 oz. Yellow Chartreuse
  • .5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1.5 oz. Fresh Pressed Carrot Juice
  • Fresh ground Black Pepper for garnish

Shake all together with ice and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.

Grind the black pepper on top to garnish.

The Blood Orange Bronco

  • 1.5 parts Milagro Silver
  • 0.75 parts Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
  • 1 part Fresh Lime Juice
  • 0.75 parts Agave Nectar

Garnish: Orange Wheel, Lime Wheel (1 each)

Pour all ingredient in a Boston Shaker with ice.

Shake and strain over fresh ice in a salt-rimmed rocks glass.

Garnish with orange and lime wheels.

… and when the Denver Broncos touchdown, this one is for you!

It’s time to do a victory lap.

Cheers to your team with this cocktail from Hangar 1 Vodka, made in the Bay Area from fresh grapes and grain.

The Broncos Touchdown

  • 1 oz. Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka
  • 1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
  • ¾ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz. Simple Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Seltzer Water

Add ingredients except seltzer water in a cocktail shaker.

Briefly shake with ice and strain into an ice-filled Collins glass.

Top with seltzer.

The Bronco by Van Gogh Vodka

  • 1 1/2 oz. Van Gogh Oranje Vodka
  • 3 oz. Orange Juice
  • 1 oz. Club Soda

Pour vodka and juice into an ice-filled highball glass rimmed with blue sugar.

Stir and top with orange juice and garnish with an orange slice

Super Bowl

This is a one-time-only offering, featuring EFFEN’s original super-premium vodka wrapped in a custom, textured football sleeve, complete with 50 Cent’s golden stamp of approval – his signature and logo.

If you can’t find the 50 Cent Effen bottle, the original Effen vodka will work just as well.

Effen Vodka Beast

  • 1 1/2 parts EFFEN® Black Cherry
  • 1/2 part Vanilla Simple Syrup
  • 2 parts White Cranberry Juice
  • 1/2 part Fresh Lemon Juice

Shake and strain all ingredients over fresh ice in a rocks glass.

Garnish with brandied cherries.

Effen Vodka Grapefruit Bubbly

  • 1/2 parts EFFEN® Vodka
  • 1 part Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 part Prosecco

Pour all ingredients into a champagne flute.

Garnish with a lemon twist.

If tequila is more your style than vodka, check out this very masculine concoction by 1800 Silver.

The Kick Off – 1800 is the go-to tequila for an effortlessly cool and smooth 100% blue agave taste.

The Kick-Off

  • 1.5 oz. 1800 Silver
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 0.5 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz. Lime Juice Cordial
  • 0.25 oz. Green Chartreuse

Shake with ice and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

We’re half-way through the game and Beyonce and Coldplay are ready to take the stage.

It’s light and refreshing while you dance along during the show.

The Half-Time Show

  • 2 oz Santera Blanco Tequila
  • 1.25 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1.50 oz Mint Simple Syrup*
  • 3 Lime wedges or wheels
  • 1 Fresh Mint Sprig
  • Club soda to top

In a shaker, combine tequila, juice and simple syrup.

Add ice and shake vigorously.

Fill a Collins glass with fresh ice and add lime
