Brasil’s Melissa Shoes And Campana Brothers Reunite For Melissa X Campana Barroca

New for 2016, we so are excited to share the latest SS16 collection, Barroca, from Brazilian plastic footwear brand, Melissa Shoes, in collaboration with touted furniture design duo the Campana Brothers.

A fresh take on Campana brothers’ signature mesh and overlapping lines, these florid flats blend ornaments of the past with modern details and an organic color palette.

Inspired by their Baroque furniture collection, Melissa Barroca x Campana lends a playful interpretation of Italian Baroque infused with the vibrancy of everyday Brazilian culture.

They. Are. Amazingggggg!

I have a pair in Rose Gold and they are the most comfortable and beautiful shoes!

In celebration of the latest designs, the Campana Brothers have launched an installation Barroca: The Harmony of Imperfection at Galleria Melissa in London to run through February 2016.

The installation features five furniture pieces from the Campana’s Baroque collection, the primary source of inspiration for the shoes.

The space is lined with intricate wallpaper bearing the Campana Brother’s signature mesh combined with traditional Rococo motifs of shells, plant tendrils and cherubs balanced by contemporary references including bones, insects, screws and scissors.

Both the instillation and collection create an organic language among the tradition of a culture and the perspective of a new through the fusion of ornaments from the past with contemporary elements.

Melissa teamed up with the Campana Brothers to produce a line of flats made from 30% recycled PVC with portions of the proceeds donated to World Vision, a charity dedicated to lifting children out of poverty.

Melissa shoes can be disassembled and recycled.

Solid, liquid, and gas residues from production are recycled and nothing leaves the factory without being treated, resulting in practically zero waste.

In terms of sizing — Melissa shoes run in whole sizes and I would say run pretty true to size.

For example, I’m a size 6.5, which is usually a 36.6 in European sizes or a 37 depending on the brand.

That said, with my TOMS and my UGGs I buy a size 6 and they stretch out.

I tried on both a US size 6 and a US size 7 of the Barroca style, and I ended up keeping the Size 6. The Size 7 was too big.

I absolutely LOVE my shoes!

They are divine!

Beautiful. Price is too high. For a plastic shoe.
