FW14 Backstage Beauty at Tadashi Shoji

With a collection inspired by Morocco and The Moors, Tadashi Shoji’s FW14 runway show was a burst of gilded beauty laced with rich colours of wine and velvet.

Nails were created by butterLondon using Nail Foundation as a base and topped off with the golden Marbs.

Lead nail artist and Colour Ambassador, Katie Hughes, used what she described as a “floating nail” design made of a half-moon crescent on the bottom of the nail and topped off with a thin golden tip.

Makeup was done by MAC Cosmetics and created by Lisa Houghton:

“The makeup is inspired by a dark Moroccan sky and an enchanting medieval Moorish palace with its luxuriant textiles and palatial soundscapes. An elegant balance between antiquity and modernity. It’s about mystery, romance and decadence reminiscent of an enchanting Moorish night.”

With soft neutral eyes (sans mascara) and defined eyebrows to frame the face, Houghton’s goal was to recreate that “holiday glow one gets whilst on vacation.”

Ethereal hair, created by Rodney Cutler (Redken expert) for ULTA Beauty Backstage, was a whimsical updo with a touch of structure to compliment the Shoji’s Fall 2014 collection.
