Betty Draper, eat your heart out!
No one throws a presentation quite like Alice + Olivia and the team at PMK*BNC.
The SS13 presentation for Stacey Bendet’s latest collection was nothing short of stellar.
Between the array of colours, organization and treats — we loved!
The entire collection of gowns, shoes and ready-to-wear were all inspired by the American optimism of the 1950s.
Bendet prides the collection on being the epitome of bold, chic and sexy feminine style. It is something Alice + Olivia has come to be known for.
Held at Center 548 in New York City, the collection’s set was a conceptualization inspired by Fien Muller’s combination of the real and the surreal: digital photography and mid-century furniture telling a story of feminist spirit and unrestrained innovation.
As a reinterpretation of 1950s style, the clothing took shape with full skirt silhouettes, corsets and bustiers, cropped pants and an emphasis on the classic party dress we all know and love.
Audrey Hepburn would probably giggle with glee and Doris Day would request one of everything.
At least, we would like to think so!
Bendet’s colour palette featured shades of coral, peach, sky blue and pink. Ivory made an appearance as did ink blots of black and navy blue once in awhile. The palette was inspired by the works of artists including Ilya Bolotowsky, Henri Matisse, Wassily Kandinsky and Ellsworth Kelly.
Makeup was executed by Stila, hair by L’Oreal and music was deejayed by Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe.
Also, Magnum was on hand with mini-chocolate pops.
But hands down, the best drinks in New York City go the Alice + Olivia for the creation of the “Olivia.”
Not only did it taste amazing, but the presentation was exquisite.
Absolutely.
Exquisite.
Happy Fashion Week!
