The Rekall of Total Recall

I live in Gotham City and we have strange things that happen here.

No, really.

We do.

So about a month ago when I started seeing these strange adverts for something called ‘Rekall’ with their whole “Tell us your fantasy. We’ll make it real” slogan, I was kind of confused.

I imagined it had to be some gimmick by Madame Tussauds or a weird strip club advertising some type of mind-blowing (no pun intended) fantasies.

Heck, for all I knew, it was some odd country club trying to be a combination of Nectar Island meets A Small World in scene of augmented reality on Innovations-crack a la Disney Orlando.

It wasn’t until I saw the new Colin Farrel film, a re-make of the 1990 original, “Total Recall” did any of it make sense.

Talk about eerie.

Rekall, for those of you unaware, is a giant company that provides its clients with implanted artificial memories of the lives they would like to have (since dystopia isn’t very fun.)

Not a fan of The Arnold and having avoided the original, although in eternal lust for most things dystopia (Brave New World, anyone?) I enjoyed the film.

In my next life, I want to be Kate Beckinsale’s character, Lori Quaid. In fact, in this life I think I’m inspired to take up some Krav Maga for the heck of it and become an assassin by way of hobby.

So the adverts… what say you?

What tickles your fancy?
