Barbie Takes Over Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at FW12

“I’m a Barbie Girl in a Barbie world!”

*squeee*

This Fashion Week, Barbie opened up her sparkly, pink doors for The Dream Closet, a fashionista’s dream come true — especially, if you’re me!

“Life is plastic, it’s fantastic!”

She hired a DJ who played everything from Pitbull to Madonna, served pink sugar-rimmed champagne flutes and had models dressed as her on balconies lining the walls of the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.

“OMG shoes!!!

The venue was lit with soft pink lights and it felt like the Hogwarts of Barbie had come to life with augmented-reality mirrors in place that allowed Fashion Week goers to try on some of Barbie’s most famous outfits.

The food was delish and oh-so girlie with fig and gorgonzola cheese on a crostini with a walnut, mini-lobster rolls and strawberry milkshake shots with peanut-butter cookies flowing.

Even the napkins were branded for the event.

Our makeup and style for the evening:

  • ~ Adele/Lana Del Rey-inspired makeup
    • Smashbox Photo Op palette, Lancome Doll lashes mascara, Hard Candy Walk the Line liquid glossy eyeliner, MAC Venetian lustreglass & MAC Ambering Rose blush
  • ~ Pamela Love necklace from Steph
  • ~ Butter London SS12 “Trout Pout” nails
  • ~ Vintage-inspired dress from… *drum roll* George.com!

Whoever said all style had to be expensive was sadly mistaken.

Fashion is bought, style is something you have!

“You can brush my hair…”

By the way, did we mention we ran into Rose McGowan and Joe Zee?

Needless to say, this was our absolute favourite event from this season’s fashion week.
