Lela Rose’s latest collection was inspired by a recent trip to Dallas, Texas where she said she became besotted with Santiago Calatrava’s Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
Her collection was aimed at translating Calatrava’s linear stability into lines of romanticism and functionality for the ready-to-wear woman.
Both an architect and engineer, Calatrava’s signature bridges and railway stations set the backdrop for long, angular silhouettes.
In true Rose fashion, the collection was exquisitely tailored and very pretty with many pieces boasting heavy embellishments and knitted handiwork.
We really loved the ballgown and tea dresses in darker magenta.
Floor length day time dresses in cable-stayed plaid and grid lace stove pipe sleeves effortlessly balancegeometry with a natural fluidity.
Brick fil coupe´, galvanized organza, and silk cloque´ are highlighted in colors such as rust, sulfurous amber, dark bronze and white silver.
