Pre-Fall 2012: Diane von Furstenberg

Fashion Queen Diane von Furstenberg named her pre-Fall collection ‘Macadam Diva.’

For those unaware, ‘macadam’ is the French word for ‘asphalt’ to denote that the collection includes harder-than-usual lines, with shapes and lesser flowing fabrics.

While, we wouldn’t consider the collection punk, per se, it’s definitely a tougher side to the designer with chains, snaps and studs.

At first glace, the combinations look beautiful, but ordinary.

However, upon closer inspection the presentation has very couture like touches from pleating, to draping materials across the shoulders, to a leopard bag, or a coat and skirt in matching black pleather basketweave.

We love, and mean love, this jacket.
