I have always loved Fendi.
The Italian fashion House, has always produced such timeless and sophisticated pieces and their AW12 collection of menswear from Milan Fashion Week is no exception.
Accordingly to Silvia Fendi, ‘duality’ is the theme and core of her label’s latest men’s collection.
This is the first menswear presentation that Fendi has shown during the menswear week in two years.
The entire collection with its variety of rich darker tones states luxury lifestyle.
From shades of blue to charcoal to textures of wool fused with mink, everything blends into one beautiful sphere of raw masculine sophistication.
“It’s really a moment where we have contrasting forces,” Sylvia said to Style.com, “a moment of big changes. I think all of us feel this dualism of past and future, about a way of life that probably will change in the future.”
Ever evolving, Fendi made a point to stay true to their roots.
For example, no jacket and collared shirt were seen without a tie.
A detail that Fendi explained as,
“The tie ties you to the past.”
The entire collection is flawless with a hint of seductive angst, which is what Fendi’s goal was in creating her ‘duality:’
“When I look at him,” she said of the Fendi man (which was loosely inspired by Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ character from the Woody Allen film “Match Point,“) “he’s very controlled, but he’s fighting a little bit.”
