Autumn/Winter 2012: Ermenegildo Zegna Menswear

When I was a little girl I used to play with Barbie dolls.

Before she broke-up with him, got back together with him and canoodled with him in a “Toy Story” film (what a world we live in, eh?), Barbie was the girlfriend of one Ken doll.

If Ken was going to Aspen, Colorado or somewhere in Switzerland to go skiing, canoodle by a fireplace and drink spiked apple cider, we imagine that “Winter’s Tale” menswear by Ermenegildo Zegna for AW12 at Milan Fashion Week would be his wardrobe of choice.

Just watching this collection inspired us to make hot cocoa.

We’re so glad the label didn’t try to push cashmere sweatpants, but rather hoarded a wide array of luscious cashmere turtlenecks, shearling jackets in cadet blue and beautifully quilted long leather trenches.

We’re also quite fond of those unique knitted wool ties and all the velvet.
