Welcome men, to the season of the sophisticated, highly sensual suit.
Burberry Prorsum debuted their Men’s Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, “The Gentlemen,” at Milan Fashion Week and it was nothing short of sensual, masculine spectacular GOODNESS!
We’re huge fans of the Pre-Fall 2012 collection that Christopher Bailey created and we are just as enamored with his take on AW12.
To say we’re slightly obsessed would be an understatement.
Burberry held nothing back with their sharp sartorialism and raw military-inspired ensembles that easily bring the sight to climax.
The artisanship is as divine as the acute stitching that beautifully makes the details shine.
Did you notice the duck heads as the umbrella tops?
We did.
That navy and maroonish-red scarf we loved from the Pre-Fall 2012 lookbook, reappeared in the form of a sweater in this collection.
Gorgeous.
With trouser legs pipe-stemmed , alongside double-breasted jackets that cling to the frame there is something undoubtedly Byronic about the collection (or it could be the models).
All of the silhouettes streamlined and the appearance of puffy army green flight jacket, for example, atop a corduroy suit was not an unwelcome sight.
In fact, it made us oddly think of A Separate Peace.
However, the knitwear with owls and fox faces embroidered/printed onto them were too artisanal-Hipster for our tastes.
Then there was that look and we died like Rachel Zoe from its sheer subtle extravagance:
It’s look at 10:15 in the video at the bottom of the post…
Below are a few more of our favourite looks as well as some snap shots from Burberry’s Facebook page:-
… and completely unrelated, but this reminded us of something Harry Potter-esque.
Poor kid probably a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw for parents and had no idea which House he was going to be sorted into.
