Harry Potter Mixology: Butterbeer, Firewhiskey, Pureblood and Mudblood Concoctions

A recent family trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has inspired some creative concoctions.

A spiked Butterbeer, a strong Firewhiskey, and Pureblood and Mudblood shots are drinks dreamed up by a visit to that magical park.

So enjoy these creations based on the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

Butterbeer

This popular drink of witches and wizards warms you up with just a sip.

The Three Broomsticks is a popular pub where you can socialize with friends while drinking this warm favorite.

Enjoy the Muggle version while it won’t warm you up, it is a sweet drink to sip on a warm summer’s day.

Butterbeer

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Butterscotch schnapps
  • 5 oz Cream soda
  • Whipped cream

Directions:

  • Add Butterscotch Schnapps to beer mug
  • Pour in cream soda
  • Top with whipped cream

Firewhiskey

Firewhiskey is a drink reserved to the adult witches and wizards and as you will find out at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it is not for Muggles.

Hog’s Head is a pub where a mix of interesting characters goes to drink or win a dragon in a game of cards.

A muggle version of this drink is reserved for the adults daring to give it a try.

Firewhiskey

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz whiskey
  • 1/2 oz cinnamon schnapps
  • Splash of 151 rum

Directions:

  • Add whiskey and cinnamon schnapps to shaker with ice
  • Shake to chill
  • Pour into shot glass
  • Top with 151 rum
  • Ignite
  • ***put out flames before consuming***

Pureblood and Mudblood

Lineage has been a constant issue in the Harry Potter world.

Malfoy priding his pureblood lineage while Hermione showing that it doesn’t matter your parentage, a great wizard is made not born.

Enjoy the shots based on these two different backgrounds.

Pureblood

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 oz vodka
  • 4 oz sweet and sour mix
  • 1 oz raspberry liqueur
  • Raspberry garnish

Directions:

  • Add vodka, sweet and sour mix and raspberry liqueur to shaker with ice
  • Shake to chill
  • Pour into shot glass
  • Garnish with raspberry

Mudblood

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz coffee liquor
  • 1 oz cream de cacao
  • 1 oz Irish cream
  • Splash vodka

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to shaker with ice
  • Shake to chill
  • Pour into shot glass
