Chanel Channels Claudia Schiffer and Classics for FW2011 Eyewear ADs

Simple. Chic. Black and White.

It’s classic Chanel advertising by Karl Lagerfeld.

Utilizing the chain, the most iconic fixture in the brand (probably besides the Little Black Dress), Lagerfeld has incorporated it into the upcoming season’s design.

From Aviators, to square frames to the cat-eyes, the chain is woven with lambskin leather through the frames themselves.

This fall the brand’s hues are of choice are colours such as wine, taupe and navy.

If you haven’t seen the cover of Vogue US, featuring Emma Watson (shot my Mario Testino, wearing Prada FW2011, styled by Camilla Nickerson), July 2011 issue, her spread is very much so aligned with that colour palette.

It’s a true indication of what will be out and available as the fall collections from the high-street to the high-end start hitting the stores.

Something else that should be noted about this campaign is that Lagerfeld employed another simple, chic, gorgeous classic for his work: Claudia Schiffer, a long-time muse and face of the brand.

With makeup applied to a minimalist touch, sleek hair, haunting eyes and brooch-like flower accessories in her hair, one’s attention is definitely on the eyewear as opposed to Claudia Schiffer.

That’s the mark of a good photographer and art director.

Our favourite is definitely the cateye sunglasses advert.
