Gwyneth Paltrow: The New Face of Coach

By: Maria Lago, guest blogger

There is no doubt that Gwyneth Paltrow is having a fantastic year!

Her appearance in the hit television show, Glee has put her on the map not only as the fabulous actress we’ve known for years, but now as a singer!

If you haven’t heard Gwyneth singing yet, you’ve clearly have been living under a rock.

Besides Glee, she’s been seen performing at the 2011 Academy Awards where she performed a song called ‘Coming Home’ from the soundtrack of her film ‘Country Strong‘.

The song was nominated for an Academy Award, but lost to Toy Story 3‘s ‘We Belong Together’.

Adding to her Awards Season tour she performed her very popular song with Cee Lo Green called ‘Forget You‘ at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

Now the Oscar winner can add Coach to her long list of accomplishments.

She was announced as the new face of the luxury line of handbags and accessories.

Gwyneth now shares a common bond with Kate Bosworth who was the face of the brand in 2008.

As seen above, the ad campaign for Kate Bosworth, is pretty simple, I would love to see Coach step it up a bit with pop of color for Gwyneth’s campaign.

She’s way too hot right now not to have the ads be exciting and want any girl to want a Coach item STAT!

I look forward to seeing Peter Lindbergh‘s photograph’s coming to life through the beauty that is Gwyneth Paltrow and the power house that is the brand of Coach.

Paltrow gushes to Women’s Wear Daily that she’s excited to be the face of the label.

“I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand, I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag.”

Paltrow will be the face of the brand not only for the fall campaign, but all the way into Spring of 2012 as well.

The company’s president and creative director, Reed Krakoff, said:

[That Paltrow was] “a natural choice… She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand.”

It turns out, Gwyneth is going to be fronting the international ad campaign of the entire Coach line, which is more than we can say for Kate Bosworth’s campaign, which only surfaced in China.

Though the billboards and websites featuring the ad campaign will air mostly in Europe and Asia, predominantly in Britain, China, France, Spain and Portugal.

You will be sure to see the beautiful blonde graze the pages of your September fashion magazines encouraging you to go Coach or go home!

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with having Gwyneth Paltrow fronting any brand, she’s got what it takes to be the cover girl of anything including these great magazine covers!

The star has previously fronted campaigns for Tod’s and Christian Dior, so the gig isn’t a new experience for her.
