From Tween to Boho-Chic: Mary-Kate and Ashley Launch New #Fashion Line

At just 24 years of age, famous twin superstars – Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen – already have quite an extensive resume.

The dynamic duo has come a long way, since their TV-debut in the 80’s family favorite, Full House. After much success with the prime time sitcom, the girls slowly began to learn the ins-and-outs of Hollywood – quickly capitalizing on their star power and precocious charisma.

It wasn’t long before Mary-Kate and Ashley began to construct their empire, beginning with their own company, Dualstar Entertainment – which scored millions of dollars almost instantly thanks to the twins countless feature films.

But as they matured, their acting careers began to take a back seat to their couture dreams. The duo has spent the last few years creating several clothing lines, and within two decades, the twins have evolved from tween trendsetters into beyond-powerful, brazen fashionistas.

Elizabeth and James – named after their brother and sister – is Mary-Kate and Ashley’s casual contemporary line, while Olsenboye is a travel-inspired collection; containing various mix-and-match pieces influenced by numerous cities across the globe.

Oslenboye is the pair’s more affordable junior’s line, sold exclusively at JC Penney’s.

Following suit, is the twins third label, The Row, their upscale clothing line – that has done extremely well in the three years since it was launched. From leather and fur to tailored jackes and chic dresses, The Row epitomizes the everyday elegance and luxury of London’s legendary Savile Row.

With littler to no formal design training, the twins have immersed themselves within the fashion industry and have expanded their empire yet again.

Earlier this week, on April 5th 2011, Mary-Kate and Ashley were joined by Hollywood’s A-list ladies, at the Beverly Hills celebration of their latest label, TEXTILE Elizabeth and James.

TEXTILE Elizabeth and James, is best described as a diffusion line for its sister-lablel, Elizabeth and James.

It’s grand event, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Tuesday night, sure paid homage to the collection – drawing in some of the most influential fashionistas in Tinsel Town.

Fellow child-start tuned Hollywood-super-power, Dakota Fanning, joined Ashley attend at the event.

It looks like Fanning is a little Bo-Ho Chic herself, as she poses with Ashley, looking fresh, comfortable and very pulled together.

Emma Roberts was also in attendance, as was Nicole Richie – all came out in support to the Spring Collection and to celebrate the Olsen twins overwhelming fashion sense…and success!

Each of the twins collections - The Row, Elizabeth & James and Olsenboye – have all gotten noticed and recieved praise from some of the top buyers in the consumer fashion industry.

Their fashion obsession, is a recent acquirement either.

Ashley has admitted in previous interviews that,

“We had a collection with Wal-Mart at 12, which was the upper tier of the tween market. It was before celebrity designers.”

“And we were really designing it,” Mary-Kate adds. “It would be jeans, a bit bohemian, or with a little blazer. It was really fashion-forward.”

It’s always been clear that these two had a keen eye for trends and couture – now they have the ability to share this passion with fashionistas alike.

And despite their never-ending success, Mary-Kate and Ashley are still full of genuine, raw ambition – something quite inspiring, if I do say so myself.

“The thing about us,” Mary-Kate has explained, “…is we think big. Huge.”
