{Beautirati} YSL Provocative Pink: My New Favourite Lipstick!

I’m obsessed.

Okay, not completely, but enough to want to write a blog post about it.

It’s Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte – 10: “Provocative Pink” and I bloody love it.

I’m pretty much set in my ways when it comes to certain things, lipsticks is one of them. Being the girl, who rarely steps outside of her makeup box, I’ve been debating the purchase of one of these for quite sometime.

While, a lot of people tend to go for the luxuriously creamy beige and nudes from the Rouge Volupte collection and similar, I have been wanting to try this futuristic, fashion-forward fuchsia for quite sometime now.

Now, I’m not going to lie, this is a high-end lipstick, and if you go to a place like Barney’s New York, even online, be prepared to shell out $34.00 USD for one tube. I was lucky enough to get it as a belated-birthday present from the amazing Amanda … and I was planning on purchasing this baby anyway.

Provocative Pink is an SPF-15 densely pigmented, exceptionally radiant lipstick. It’s long-lasting, and has a satin finish. From a distance, however,  the finish looks matted, creamy and bright.

It glides on smoothly, a little bit goes a long way and it feels silky against your lips.  So while this is amazing, be careful not to over apply it, because the lipstick, itself, is exceptionally soft.

The packaging is pretty. It’s gold, pink, some more gold and a bit more pink with a mirror on one end — what’s not to love? 🙂

Some might call it Pornstar Pink, while others might say, it’s only fit for Barbie or some girl who thinks she’s a living doll.

Then again, I walk around during the day wearing Hot House from MAC… so I think it depends on the person. Know how to ‘rock it’ and don’t be scared to try something new. Too many people I know are scared of makeup. I’m not saying go out there and wear bright, electric blue to work (unless of course, it’s in the atmosphere of where you are employed), but makeup is fun – so just do it!

Honestly, I’m glad I got the opportunity to finally have one of these babies in my well-manicured clutches because it’s just lovely.

  1. Totally you! One of those vibrant, light-up-your-face hues…great choice!

  2. Thanks Evelyn! I really like it a lot. It's very silky and light when it goes on your lips, so even if bright pink isn't your choice, any one of from the collection I think is worth the investment. Especially, since a little bit goes such a long way, you will have your lipstick for a long time!

    🙂

These are really bad and blurry pics. Do you have a clearer one so that ppl can see the color better?

  4. Most of them, except one put on on purpose, are clear.
