Dior Suspends Galliano, is AW 2011 Next?

As rumors circulate and press intensifies, John Galliano’s Thursday night arrest continues to send shockwaves through the fashion industry.

Upon hearing the allegations that Galliano reportedly assaulted and made anti-Semitic comments toward a Parisian couple, he was suspended from his professional role within the House of Dior.

“The House of Dior declares with the greatest firmness its policy of zero tolerance with regard to any anti-Semitic or racist statement or attitude,” Dior Chief Executive, Sidney Toledano, said in a recent statement.

“Pending the outcome of the inquiry, Christian Dior has suspended John Galliano from all duties,” Toledano later explained.

Color and Trending Combine to Power Grey Canada’s Global Mood Clock

Advertising agency, Grey Canada – part of the award-winning, international Grey Group – has recently launched their infographic clock app which aims to help us kick off 2011 in the most innovative and tech-savvy way possible.

The application, which will soon be made available through the Apple App Store for the iPhone, pulls together geo-tagged data from major cities around the world.

Additionally this one-of-a-kind app has the ability to not only tell time, but reflect the “mood” of each city by displaying the dominant color that results from the latest geo-tagged photo uploads to Flickr, the area’s top Google searches and Twitter trends—all in real-time.

Hidden Impact of Display Advertising: Starwood Hotels

A recent 2010 study by Dynamic Logic (part of WPP) explored the impact of display advertising on brand perceptions and search intent for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc.  properties in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore and Australia.

The in-depth study found that display adverts have different impacts on target audiences during the different phases of the brand-consumer relationship.

More importantly, the study brought out information, that while applicable to the Asia-Pacific region, should be highly considered in western markets as well.
