About a month ago, I got an invite to see Project Runway finalist, Althea Harper’s Ready-To-Wear SS11 line during New York Fashion Week SS11 as well as attend a special tech-fashion event held afterward in her honour by SWAGG Fashion and Sarah Evans.
I mean who doesn’t love the opportunity to talk and walk tech, sip cocktails and see lots of gorgeous clothing?
I loved it.
Of course, we joked around that you knew it was a technology event because everyone had their mobile devices out and were tweeting their heavenily little hearts out for the entire night — I, myself, was not an exception.
My favourite piece was the dark grey dress on the far right-hand side.
It’s just gorgeous in person and I think the cut is beyond flattering.
The piece is very contemporary Jackie O. I could easily see it with a pair of big Chanel sunglasses in black, pearls stud earrings and a lovely Birkin along its side.
As for the collection, I love the the colours and the minimalist designs.
It was very chic and very true to the trends of Spring/Summer 2011 from New York Fashion Week.
There were even hints of sheer — another very typical style popular this season.
One of my favourite things about the women’s collection were the use of prints, diagonal and other lines to elongate the body.
The makeup was done by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and the women’s shoes were
Shoes. Shoes? Shoes! I dieee.
I keep saying this, but they were gorgeous! They reminded me of something Barbie would wear on New Year’s Eve.
They’re just these bling-bling, studded pairs of discoteka goodness.
It was great to hang out with Sarah and meet Althea as well as reconnect with some of my favourite tech-fashionistas!
The after party was held at Greenhouse NYC, which is this fabulously exquisite lounge filled with amazing lighting and a sweet decor.
SWAGG is a mobile application releasing this fall that eliminates the use of plastic gift cards.
You can buy them, give them and check your balance all through the comfort of your mobile device!
Many thanks to Sarah Evans, SWAGG and Althea Harper for a fantastic evening.
