Inhale Courage, Exhale Fear…

On December 23, 1776 Thomas Paine said,

“THESE are the times that try men’s souls.”

It was the heart of the American Revolutionary War and, as Bob Dylan might have said, these times, they were a-changin’.

Italian designers are heating things up on the Milan runways with their Spring/Summer 2011 collections.

After countless seasons of basic black, this week’s fashion celebration is coming alive with both bright refreshing pallets and bold prints.

Incorporating cheerful shades of orange, violet, green and royal blue, Italian designers are pulling inspiration from exotic island getaways and capitalizing on the summer vacation spirit.

The message was simple—carefree couture. [Read more…]

Ah, so good, so bloody good, it gives you goosebumps!

An epic finale it most certainly shall be, we can hardly wait.

The two-minute trailer is full of of eye-catching wonderment and magical ecstasy. We love, love, love!

One has to be extra quick in order to pick out which scene is from what part of the book and what is being included in the part one of the seventh film. Plus the fact, that trailers are never in the proper sequence order is enough to make your brain twirl over multiple times. [Read more…]

When your clients include the ultra-outrageous Lady Gaga and Brooklyn-based MGMT, normal is just not in your vocabulary.

It’s true, the purpose of a runway presentation is first and foremost to draw attention to your collection, well French-born Charlie Le Mindu did just that.

Le Mindu stayed true to his outlandish reputation, shocking guests at his London show earlier this week by sending his models down the catwalk adorned in Noritaka Tatehana pink platforms, his one-of-a-kind headpieces and nothing else. [Read more…]

NYFW at Lincoln Center

(*** WARNING: This post is image heavy. ***)

I keep saying I’m one lucky girl and that’s because I am.

Moi 🙂

Lincoln Center is this beautiful space on the island of Manhattan. It is [Read more…]

Social Media & Public Relations: A Delectable Tango

UNESCO's 2009 Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Twitter, Facebook, FriendFeed, Orkut, FlickR, YouTube, USTREAM, LinkedIN, Yelp, Viemo, Posterous, TumblR… [Read more…]

{iStyle} First-Ever Plus-Size Runway Show Debuts at NYFW 2010

By: Kelly Ahern, guest blogger

You do not have to be stick thin and epically proportioned to love fashion– so why does that seem to be a prerequisite to market it?

Whether it is working the catwalk, posing in an editorial or flaunting the latest trends across strategically placed billboards, models make their presence known.

Each entices the viewer to take a closer look at the brand they are representing, and inevitably are used to spark a connection and build relationships with the consumer.

Why then do they tend to represent an insignificant percentage of style connoisseurs? [Read more…]

On CNN: Beauty In the Eye of the Beholder Equates the Need for PERFECTION

Malaika Arora via Amrita Arora

Is ethnic beauty

the new ‘it’ factor?

I’m one lucky girl.

I am. I am. I am.

And I would like to personally thank the amazing Liane Membis for including me in her project.

On Monday September 13, 2010 I was quoted in a CNN article about women, beauty and ‘perfection.’ I had quite a few people (friends, Twitter buddies and family) reach out to tell me that they not only agreed with that I said, but they wholeheartedly appreciated that I said it. [Read more…]
