American Royalty: Chelsea Clinton Ties Knot With Vera Wang, Burberry and Oscar De La Renta

On July 31, 2010, former First Daughter and American Royalty (since the days of John F. Kennedy at least,) Chelsea Clinton married Marc Mezvinsky in an interfaith ceremony (Clinton is Methodist, Mezvinsky is Jewish) in Rhinebeck, NY.

Both the bride and her bridesmaids wore pieces designed by Vera Wang. Chelsea wore a floor-length, jewel encrusted, silk organza dress.

The glittering, obi-fitting, waist-belt accentuated a gorgeous silk tulle, diagonally fit, bodice the led the way into a swirling silk ballgown skirt.

Her veil was something out of a fairytale. Very reminiscent of Princess Diana,  it was classic, royal and deeply romantic.

We love.

So perfect.

It’s just another reason why Vera Wang, who launched her line in 1990, is still the ultimate Queen of the luxury wedding dress.

President Bill Clinton, Marc Mezvinsky and the groomsmen wore Burberry tuxedos designed by Christopher Bailey, the creative director of the fashion house.

Noticing the suits themselves, it is very easy to tell that a British (possibly European) fashion house designed them based on the width of the tie, cut of the jacket and legs of the pants; all exceptionally, classic English.

Had the tuxedos been Italian, the look would be felt more sleek, as opposed to sophisticated-modest.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wore Oscar De La Renta. He also dressed her for the 1997 Inaugural Ball and 2008’s swearing in of Barack Obama.
