Hermione casts a protective charm to keep Harry, Ron and herself out of sight of other wizards and Muggles. “There’s an awful lot of action in this film,” says Heyman. “As much as there is, what I’ve always loved is the character work and the relationships that Jo Rowling has given us.”
In a scene embellished for the film adaptation, an embattled Hogwarts must fend off fiery explosions from Death Eaters.
Voldemort and his pack of evil Death Eaters, including his most loyal follower, Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter), loom menacingly.
*I think the person on the right-hand side of Voldemort might be Antonin? Maybe Rudolphous?
Harry and Voldemort have a climactic duel in Hogwarts courtyard. “Harry and Voldemort go wand to wand in the courtyard, and we get to destroy Hogwarts,” says Heyman. “It’s a mess in there. We probably made a little more of the battle between the two of them (than in the book). We felt we needed to dramatize it.”
*Notice all the dead bodies… gah, I can’t wait until November!
Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) destroys a Horcrux, a piece of Voldemort’s soul, with the Sword of Gryffindor. “This is quite a physical film,” Heyman says. The teenage trio of wizards Harry, Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) do a lot of stunt work, he says, “running through the forest, avoiding explosions, riding dragons.”
Harry is surprised to find himself in a forest after evading capture by a Death Eater from the Ministry of Magic.
Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), hisses: “Why do you live?”
Harry says: “Because I have something to live for.”
Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) rides with Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) on his enchanted motorcycle, executing a plan to escape Death Eaters.
The blind and pale dragon that guards the high-security vaults in Gringotts Bank menaces Harry, Hermione and Ron. “We viewed him as having been trapped down in the bottom of Gringotts and seeing no light, so he’s kind of a fair-skinned dragon,†says producer David Heyman. “When he emerges and flies off, it’s actually quite beautiful.â€
