It’s baaaaaaaack.
And as much as you want to hate him, McDraper Dreaminess is one fine piece of AD man.
Around this time in 2009 AMC revealed the poster for the third season,
and it was…interesting.
Was Don Draper going to drown? Maybe they were going to have a swimming pool installed at Sterling Cooper and chase the secretaries around for their bikini tops this time around.
Also, kind of nifty was this little video that AMC released behind-the-scenes for the third poster’s photo shoot.
Ambitious? Larger than life?
All that and damn sexy for sure, but it foretold a lot and nothing at all at the same time.
What it did do, however, was set the tone for the third season: it was darker and more corrupted than the previous (if you could believe that.)
Draper would be drowning in himself and we all know Sterling Cooper went down and then rose like a phoenix through the ashes, a la Joanie in the end, to form Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.
So what’s next?
This little diddy, apparently:
The new poster, for as chic as it is, really resembles something IKEA would put out. Them or Calvin Klein and the love for all things minimalist.
Frankly, I can’t wait for season 4 of the McDraper Dreaminess to be on the screen again.
