For those of you who don’t know, Idina Menzel is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She’s won two Tony Awards for her original performances as Maureen Johnson in Jonathan Larson’s “Rent” and for Elphaba in Stephen Schwartz’s “Wicked” (alongside the incredible Kristin Chenoweth.)
Some of you may recognize her as Mrs. Taye Diggs, while others may recall her small role in Disney’s Enchanted, where she played Patrick Dempsey’s girlfriend Nancy who runs off into the cartoon sunset (literally) with Prince Edward (played by James Marsden.)
Anyway, I felt the urge to make Idina my #MusicMonday today because a) I love her music and b) her song “Brave” has had a very special meaning to me within the past few months and I really think parts of it emulate and really depict how I’ve been feeling with my move from Miami to New York.
In a nutshell, “Brave” just energizes me and makes me feel better each time I hear it. I’m also a huge fan of her song, “I Stand,” because I love the message in it about standing up for what’s right rather than what’s just ‘normal.’
Who is the judge of what’s ‘normal’ anyway? You know?
And of course, “Defying Gravity,” from “Wicked” … Best.Song.Ever!
Happy Music Monday

Also, if you’re interested. When I first started teaching myself Photoshop, what feels like eons ago, I dabbled in animated .gifs. I practiced on making icons and one set I made were of Idina Menzel in “Brave” because I found the idea of the cloth blowing in the wind to be so beautiful! — and a great test on frames as well
Yeaaa, back in 2007-2008, I was on a huge icon kick and I was learning, so don’t get too excited, lol.
If you want it, by all means, take/download from below:-
Some icons from “Wicked” that I randomly found that I made around that time too:-
