{Chic Fashionista} Lou Lou Bell Mademoiselle purses

Welcome to our first ever {Chic Fashionista} post and what better way to start it off than with Lou Lou Bell, the inspiration and reason! About two months ago I was contacted by a pretty cool chickie-dee from Nova Scotia named Lyndsay who told me about her handmade purses called Lou Lou Bell. She asked me if I would review one for the Little Pink Book. Having never done these non-makeup reviews on here before, I decided it was time to start!

As most of you know, if you read {Rules of PR} last week, I was in New York City for the Labor Day holiday weekend here in the states. I took my mini-vacay as the perfect opportunity to put these bags to the test — so behold!

It’s chic, eco-friendly and classic…and you know how much I love that!

Lou Lou Bell was started in 2006 by Lyndsay Hubley, the lady “behind the seams.” She grew up watching her mummy and grandmamma embroidering, knitting and sewing, and loved to rummage through their fabric scraps and sewing boxes. What started as a hobby for Lyndsay became a business filled with an an all-consuming obsession for color and texture.

This is me at the Summer HD Met Opera series, stuffing more of my girlie goodies into my Lou Lou Bell.

If you’re of the male species and reading this — shut your eyes!!! NOW!!!…because I’m giving you a glimpse inside of a lady’s purse 🙂

My Lou Lou Bell was able to hold:-

  • 1 Mentha Lip gloss by CO Bigelow
  • 1 MAC Blot Power
  • 1 Urban Decay Bourbon
  • 1 Lancome Crushed Rose lipstick
  • 1 Diorshow Blackout Mascara
  • 1 MAC Eye Shadow Trio
  • 1 MAC Lipglass

Did I need all of that? No.

But when you travel you never know where you shall be for the day, so it’s important to be prepared and have the proper morning makeup “touch up” materials available. Especially, when you are hanging out in a fabulous city like New York City. So this was a perfect opportunity to put Lou Lou Bell to the test to see if it could really stand up to THAT pressure….

Yep. My Lou Lou Bell makeup baggie fit into my handbag, held all my makeup craopla and some. 🙂

And guess what ladies? You don’t need to spend $50.00+ USD on a makeup bag to be fabulous. That’s what great about Lou Lou Bell — they’re affordable!!! aka recession-friendly!

Be a fabulous recessionista fashionista! 🙂

You can find Lou Lou Bell here on the main Canadian site OR here on Etsy.
