That phrase jumped out at me while reading Be a Network Marketing Superstar by Mary Christensen with Wayne Christensen.

The book is a highly detailed, easy to understand, easy to read guide on direct sales marketing. Strong simple advice litters the pages as information is broken down.

What I enjoyed most about the book was the common sense approach it took.

It’s really quite simple.  If you are looking to brand yourself, marketing yourself — even your business, you need to read this. If there were short-cuts, you can be darn sure the direct sales marketing business you’re in is a pyramid scheme.

Enough said.

Business requires effort and work.

You have to put the time in, make the calls, set up the appointments, and repeat.

As any freelancer could tell you, your results improve upon the number of pitches you do. The same is said for network marketing.

Don’t be like Steve, the writer’s neighbor, who only put effort into learning. You must also put effort into doing.

There are no short-cuts. There are no excuses.

Two sentences that impact everyone, no matter their career field.
