Who is Shaheen Jafargholi?

I know you’re wondering, (especially after the Michael Jackson Memorial on July 7, 2009) who in the world is Shaheen Jafargholi?

Born on January 27, 1997 (this makes him part of Gen-Y, the Millenials), Shaheen is from Swansea, Wales. He is a young Welsh singer who first got the world’s attention on the 2009 season of Britain’s Got Talent — this is the same season with Susan Boyle.

This 12-year old, half-English, half-Iranian young man has been on the stage for quite some time, prior to his stint on BGT. From shows like Casualty, to Torchwood, to playing a young Michael Jackson in Thriller – Live! Shaheen is a natural to the world of show business. He’s even toured in the UK productions of Macbeth, The King & I and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He’s also been a part of advertisements for Delta Airlines, Dehenhams and had a planned Walkers Crisps advertisement with ex-soccer (football) star Gary Lineker.

His name is Persian, meaning the ‘majestic eagle,’ and Shaheen sang the song that first got him media attention when he auditions for Britain’s Got Talent — “Whose Lovin’ You.”

Round 2 – And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going

Performance at the Michael Jackson Memorial at the Staples Center in Los Angeles — the first standing ovation of the event:

Interestingly enough, Michael Jackson (according to Kenny Ortega and others), saw Shaheen on Youtube, where he has become a Internet sensation. He then asked the young singer to join him on his 50-city concert tour starting at London’s O2 Arena slated to have begun on July 13.

How fitting, or maybe ironic, that the child who came in seventh on BGT and was defeated by a dance group, is now more infamous than Susan Boyle herself.

You can keep up-to-date with Shaheen on his Facebook page, here.

On a side note, if you are wondering who sang “Heal the World” — her name is Judith Hill and she is from Los Angeles.

I am 61 years old and I don't think that anyone has ever made me feel like Shaheen did singing Who's Loving You. I only pray that when you make it big time, you keep your head on straight.
Good luck and May God Bless You Always.
